Song No. 16 — Eu Também Preciso de Você | Sylvia Telles (1960)

Various - Bossa Nova Mesmo (1960) a

Eu Também Preciso de Você was introduced in 1960 by Oscar Castro Neves on the album Bossa Nova Mesmo. Strangely enough, the lovely song seem to be recorded only once more in 1968 when Márcia selected it for her debut album Eu e a Brisa.

Bossa Nova Mesmo, arranged and directed by Oscar Castro Neves and featuring his trio on all songs, was one of the very first collaboration albums teaming singers and songwriters of the bossa nova movement. Produced by Aloysio de Oliveira, the joint effort featured Laïs, Carlos Lyra, Lúcio Alves, Sylvia Telles and Vinicíus de Moraes with his recording debut as a vocalist.

Sylvia TellesAlthough the vocals on Eu Também Preciso de Você are uncredited, it is quite likely that they were by Sylvia Telles and Laïs Pfitzenreiter since both singers are featured on the album with solo performances.

Apart from Eu Também Preciso de Você, Sylvia Telles composed only two more songs, Sem Você Pra Quê , issued by herself on single in 1956, and Obrigada Meu Bem, written with Aloyisio de Oliveira, which is featured on Bossa Nova Mesmo as well.
