Song No. 187 — Longe de Ti | Hianto de Almeida (1956)

Longe de Ti was introduced in 1956 by José Delphino Filho, artistically known as Zézinho, recorded in May with clarinettist and saxophonist Sebastião de Barros aka K-Ximbinho and his band.

Zézinho started his singing career in 1942 at the age of 27 and recorded at least 18 singles from 1955 to 1963, five solo albums from 1957 to 1962 and four collaboration albums from 1962 to 1968.

Longe de Ti did not prove to be a hit for Zézinho like Levanta Mangueira, and was recorded only once more, two years later by Isaura Garcia on her album Foi a Noite.

Recordings of Longe de Ti:

1. Zézinho (José Delphino Filho) from the single Longe de Ti b/w Mariazinha (1956, Odeon 14.088)

2. Isaura Garcia from the album Foi a Noite (1958, Odeon MOCB 3031)
